Attending the meeting were Department Head Dr. Lecturer Elif Aranci Öztürk; Department Faculty Member Dr. Lecturer Ümit Yalçın; Faculty Member Lecturer Fahrettin Kapusuz; and industry representatives: Mechanical Engineer Berna Koca on behalf of BEST Inc.; and Factory Manager Emir Uğur Demirbaş on behalf of Anar Metal. Also present were graduate students Melek Yamanus Öğün, Nazım Sayan, and Lütfi Burak ÇAKIR; and Department Quality Student Representative Didem Ak.
At the meeting, the 3+1 Business Vocational Training Model implemented in our department was introduced. Our graduates stated that they have a better understanding of the importance of practical training in business life. It was decided to share our curriculum with industry representatives and provide our students with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the industry by organizing technical visits to corporate companies in Balıkesir before their Business Vocational Training program begins in the Spring Term.
In addition, in order to increase the professional awareness of our first-year students, it was planned to organize seminars with the participation of industry representatives in the second semester and to have industry stakeholders contribute to some courses.
As the Machinery and Metal Technologies Department, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to our valued Advisory Board members for their contributions and participation.
